Before we surveyed Von Steuben students we expected that 75% of students would think that alcohol is a dangerous drug. We thought there would be a 64% of students would think alcohol is a great risk. We predicted that 90% of students would think that it is easy to get alcohol. We thought 40% of students would have been drunk in the past month.

We surveyed 30 12 th grade students about their personal opinions on alcohol. The survey was conducted at 10:20 am Took place at Mr. Krier’s senior seminar class in room 120 Students anonymously answered a 6 question survey based on alcohol
6
18% of the female students indicated they have been drunk in the past two weeks 26% of the male students indicated they have been drunk in the past two weeks

Our hypothesis was incorrect since only 24% of 30 Von Steuben students think alcohol is a great risk. 91% of seniors nationwide think alcohol is easy to get while 87% of Von Steuben students agree. This was fairly close 70% of seniors nationwide disapprove of the substance. 30% of Von Steuben disapprove as well. Not close with the nationwide results which was very surprising. Maybe we got these results because they were honest opinions.

We’re still curious about: Is beer or wine safer to drink than hard liquor? How do you know if it’s okay to drink? If we did further research we would anonymously ask about the student’s ethnicity, family income, and drug history. To get more specific results we would anonymously survey same grade students in other high schools and summarize our results based on the schools location. We didn’t have a larger variety of answers to our questions.
