This book is a great introduction to various types of goods and services by discussingproduction, consumers' wants and needs, scarcity and surplus, specialization, and different types of economies. “Bread Comes to Life.” By: Geoge Levenson. One of the first economics ideas to which children are exposed when they enter elementary school is that natural resources are products of nature that can be used to make goods and services. Bread Comes to Life is an ideal book for teaching such a lesson about natural resources. “On Market Street.” By: Anita Lobel. A boy goes shopping on Market Street, traveling through the alphabet as he buys various goods. “Bebe Goes Shopping.” By: Susan Elya. Rhyming text describes a trip to the grocery store for a mam and her baby boy. Includes Spanish words.
