How ancient Chinese Women were treated. Many women were treated like slaves. Not even high class women got educated. Women were often just something pretty to look at if they were high class. Once they moved in with their husband's they had to follow the husband's mother's orders. A lot of girls were married off young. Chinese women could not fight in the wars. Widowed couldn't remarry.

Why Qin Shihuangdi's mother didn't come to power. Until empress Wu, no female had never had much power besides the Goddesses in chinese religion. So she was to be second to her own son. The reason being Legalism, which states that all women are second to men.

The amount of power Chinese women were allowed. Chinese women were not very powerful for a long time besides the goddesses. Then Empress Wu came a long. She even ordered many scribes to write about many great chinese women.

How lower class Chinese women were treated. They were treated like slaves by their husbands. They followed the orders of their husbands mother. Widows couldn't remarry. Their lives were similar to slaves lives. Who's children became slaves too.
