3 THIS WEEK IN SEISMIC NEWS… 15 earthquakes of a magnitude of 4.0 or greater have occurred this week. 5 of these are within the centralized boundaries of (-30.1794 to -33.2120), (-71.6311 to -72.3568), just north of Santiago, Chile on the oceanic Nazca plate. The largest activity recorded (5.0 Mag) occurred on January 31 st at a depth of 159.55 meters at (-8.3518, -74.2185), inland Peru, close to Pucallpa.
