1. The Gingerbread Man went to the doctor for a check up and he wasn’t scared. The nurse measured him to see how much he has grown.

2. This is Dr. Mitchell. He works at the hospital and he is a very nice doctor. He is giving Mr. Gingerbread Man a check up. He is using a stethoscope to listen to his heart and lungs.

3. Mr. Gingerbread man had a cough so the doctor wanted him to get a chest x-ray. He went over to the hospital and stood really still while they took a picture of his chest.

4. This is Mr. Gingerbread Man with his x-ray. It shows his ribs, his lungs, and his heart.

5. Mr. Gingerbread Man got lost in the hospital and ended up in the cafeteria. The cooks thought he looked like a yummy snack and put him in a pan and........

6. in the oven! Just kidding. They know he isn’t food!

7. This is Miss Yolanda. She is a cook at the hospital cafeteria. She makes healthy food taste good for people who are sick in the hospital and for the people who work at the hospital.

8. This is Curtis. He is a maintenance man here at the hospital. He fixes things when they are broke. He is very helpful.

9. Mr. Gingerbread Man said his head hurt next. So he needed to get an MRI of his head. This is the big MRI machine. It looks scary but it’s not. You lay flat on this table and you go inside this machine that looks like a tunnel. It makes loud noises but it doesn’t hurt at all. A MRI machine uses very powerful magnets to take pictures of the body.

10. Mr. Gingerbread Man went to the physical therapy department at the hospital next. People who have been hurt go to physical therapy to exercise and get better. He is walking on an exercise machine called a treadmill.

11. This is Mr. Scott. He is a licensed physical therapist. He works with people who have been hurt and can’t walk or move certain body parts. He helps them with exercises for their injuries.

12. This is Jarrett. He is an ultrasound tech who works at the hospital. An ultrasound is done when you want to look at a mommy’s tummy when she has a baby. An ultrasound can also be done when you have a tummy ache to see if you have a sick appendix or gallbladder.

13. When you have an ultrasound some cold gel gets rubbed over the area that needs to be looked at. Then the area is rubbed and sound waves make a picture appear on the screen.

14. Sometimes when you go to the doctor you have to get your blood taken to see if you need vitamins or to see if you have an infection. Mr. Gingerbread Man was brave. He has a small needle poke his arm and it didn’t hurt.

15. Mr. Gingerbread Man was almost done at the doctor. He just needed his flu shot. The nurse gave him a flu shot in his arm and then a sticker for being so brave! The flu is an infection that can make you really sick and will make you miss school. Getting a flu shot will help you not get sick. So everyone wash your hands and stay healthy. And don’t be scared of going to the doctor!

16. After going to the doctor, the Gingerbread Man called up Skippy Jon Jones. Skippy Jon Jones decided he needed to keep his body healthy, so he went to see Ryland and work out! Ryland is a trainer and helps people exercise and keep their bodies healthy.

17. We started off doing some push-ups. They were easy. I’m just taking a break right now.

18. The next thing we did were some lunges with weights. I did okay with lunges but it was difficult to hold the weights considering I have no hands. I do look cool in my cape though.

19. We ended our workout with some pull ups. They were difficult, but after I finished, I cheered on Ryland. He has a pretty cool job and I had fun!
