Planning out your year… Use the TEA calendar of events to create an expanded checklist – Step-by-step process of what to do Examples of what to Include: – Test Dates » State and local assessments – Training dates – Report dates – Involve your campus test coordinators (CTC’s) as much possible

Planning out your year… An expanded checklist can be modified based on your personnel – For some you can focus on one test administration – Others would like a year-at-a-glance If you are given a window for testing you may want to back up the deadlines instead of going to the end of the testing window

Other Staff Who Will Assist… Throughout the year different district staff will be involved in testing – Create specific calendars for their roles during testing STAAR-Alt – Special Education – When does the window open and close – Is someone assisting in the monitoring TELPAS – Bilingual Department – When does the window open and close – Identification of LEP students to be assessed

Other Staff Who Will Assist… Online testing – Technology Staff – When do the computers need to be ready – Be on site to help with problems Testing Dates – Who do you give it to? – Campus principal and staff – Central office staff – Maintenance – Transportation – Technology

Posting Test Dates How do you communicate test dates to everyone? – Post testing dates on your district’s website There may be specific information you want to post internally versus externally – Post training dates internally – Post testing dates externally for community programs and athletics

Keys to Remember… DON’T STRESS OUT!! COMMUNICATION IS KEY!! YOU DON’T NEED TO CREATE EVERYTHING YOUSELF! – Borrow it if you can and adapt it to your district!
