In 1245, Thomas studied at the Faculty of the Arts University of Paris Then taught the Old Testament and writing in Cologne as an apprentice professor

In 1256, he was appointed regent master in theology in Paris Elected by Pope Clement IV to serve as a papal theologian Appointed to teach at the Stadium Conventuale at the Roman Convent of Santa Sabina

Upon request of the Dominicans, he left the University of Paris to establish his own Stadium Generale Established one in Naples, and eventually moved there upon its establishment
