2  Born in Roccasecca, a small town of Sicily  Came from a noble family from Naples  Began his education at Monte Cassino at age 5  Later on, he studied at Stadium Generale  Pursued theological philosophy  He studied with Albert the Great and participated the Aristotelian revival

3  Joined the Dominican order against his family’s wishes at age 19  Family members tried to persuade him away from religious life  Refused temptation of a prostitute who was hired by his brothers

4  In 1245, Thomas studied at the Faculty of the Arts University of Paris  Then taught the Old Testament and writing in Cologne as an apprentice professor

5  In 1256, he was appointed regent master in theology in Paris  Elected by Pope Clement IV to serve as a papal theologian  Appointed to teach at the Stadium Conventuale at the Roman Convent of Santa Sabina

6  Upon request of the Dominicans, he left the University of Paris to establish his own Stadium Generale  Established one in Naples, and eventually moved there upon its establishment

7  Died on March 7, 1274  Canonized and became a saint in 1323  Aquinas’s far-reaching amount of scholarship distinguished his dedication to religious life  Feast day is January 28th
