Texture Natural forms have different surface qualities in TEXTURE. Natural forms display PATTERNS. Texture is a surface quality that can be captured by rubbings or markings. Repetition of qualities such as texture produce rhythm and balance. Details, patterns or textures can be added to two-dimensional works or three-dimensional works. Subject matter in art can involve animals and fantasy Drawing tools can be used to make a variety of lines—curved, straight, thick, thin, broken, continuous. Drawing and sculpting techniques can be used to add details and textures, or to create pattern.
