Texture is…. …. the surface quality that can be seen and/or felt. Textures can be rough, smooth, soft or hard. Textures do not always feel the way they look; for example, this sidewalk art of a Lego Army may look 3D, but if you touch the drawing, the sidewalk is still smooth.

Today’s Assignment On your paper create 9 different types of textures as best you can. Experiment with your technique, values, and the overall composition. You may use any materials you like. Have fun with the textures and think outside the box.
