2 The Anglo Saxon Period The Anglo Saxons were people who originated from Germany, they had invaded Great Britain during 5 th century A.D. and took control of the country until 1066 A.D. (Hirst). The Anglo Saxons had a complicated culture. Despite the fact the Anglo Saxons were always at war, they were quite successful in government, art, etc. (Algoe)

3 The Anglo Saxon Period King Alfred King Alfred, (also known as Alfred the Great) led the Anglo Saxons in a big invasion against the Danes that had invaded England (10).

4 The Anglo Saxon Period Beowulf Beowulf was one of the first great works in the National England language. In this story A man battles his way to rescue a king and fights mighty creatures as well (18).

5 The Anglo Saxon Period In Beowulf we see a BIG fight between Beowulf and the dragon.
