4 Grades and Inflation  A's are awarded for work that exceeds the expectations and excels in all areas  B's are earned for work that exceeds the expectations in some areas  C's are given for work that satisfies the minimum requirements  D's are for work that is incomplete or does not answer the questions  U's are unacceptable  Do not ask for extra credit, make up work, etc...

6 Day 1 What is the late work policy? Where is your work completed? What and When is your first assignment due?

7 Cinderella Level one questions are factual and can be found in the text or source Level two questions are implied and answers can be inferred Level three questions are big questions. They answer how is this relevant to me and the world today ALL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS MUST BE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES

11 Day 2 Where can you find all your work and classroom resources? What is the late work/missing work policy? Describe the three levels of questions

12 World Geography Themes WHY STUDY WH? Because we must strive to make the world a place where it is easier for all to live and do good Repeating forces often influence people and events

13 Power and Authority What is power? Who holds power? What system or group provides order in society? How does the group or person maintain power? How is power used? Is that a productive means

14 Religious and Ethical Systems Beliefs that guide peoples lives and society often deal with meaning of life, creation, right and wrong What beliefs are held by the majority of people in a region? How do these beliefs differ from one another? How do religious groups interact with one another? How do religious groups act towards nonmembers?

15 Revolution Over throw of governments, institutions, and ideas What long term idea or institutions are being overthrown? What caused people to make this radical change? What are the results of this change? Violent or Nonviolent? Ends and Means?

16 Interaction with the Environment How do humans adjust to climate and terrain where they live? How have changes in the natural world forced people to change? What positive and negative changes have people made to their environment?

18 Day 3 List the world History Themes we studies yesterday? Describe the two you think are most important to studying world history?

19 Economics The way in which people use and manage their scarce resources to satisfy their needs What goods and services does a society produce? Who controls the wealth and resources? How does a society obtain more goods and services?

20 Cultural Interaction Societies shared items form tools, customs, arts, ideas, music, and food How have cultures interacted (trade, migration, or conquest)? What items have cultures shared? What political, economic, and religious ideas have cultures shared? What positive and Negative effects have resulted from cultural interaction?

21 Empire Building Growing more powerful by controlling other people, other economies, or others natural resources What motivates people to conquer other lands and people? How does a society gain control of others? How does a dominating society control and rule its subjects?

22 Science and Technology What tools and methods do people use to solve problems they encounter? How do individuals gain and use kn0wledge? How do new discoveries and inventions change the way people live?
