2. Parents My name is Mrs. Carron. This is my first year of teaching. I am very excited and honored to be able to have your child in my classroom this year. I want your child to be successful and one of the ways we can ensure this is by working together, so please feel free to contact me through out the school year and we can work together to make sure it is a great year for everyone!

3. Students I hope you have had a wonderful summer with your family! I had fun, too. I have been spending the past couple of weeks getting our classroom ready for the first day of school. We are going to have so much fun this year! I can hardly wait to get started. 8. Social Studies Our Community Government and its leaders Roles of citizens Maps and Globes Goods and Services

9. Language Arts As always a very important part of what we do will involve building their reading skills. We will work towards building their fluency and comprehension skills. We will also work on things such as: Drawing Conclusions Sequencing Retelling Cause-and-effect

10. Spelling Each week we will have a list of spelling words that will be sent home in Mondays star folder. We will have a test over these words on Friday.

11. Specials Schedule Monday-P.E Tuesday-Music Wednesday-Art Thursday-Library Friday-P.E *Specials are on a rotating schedule.

12. Field Trips In second grade we have one schedule field trip. We will be going to the Indianapolis Zoo. I will send home more information and permission slips as it gets closer.
