Description and Effect size The application of knowledge on to a certain topic or scenario and formulating an educated guess while testing that theory to see if it agrees or disagrees with its results. The Effect Size varies between the inductive and deductive approach of generating and testing an hypothesis. The Es is averaged from.39 for inductive and.6 for deductive, clearly embedding ideas into the students thoughts makes them derive their own ideas creatively is they have a starting point to begin from. Teachers use the deductive approach more often than its counterpart due to the missing experiences the students have yet to come from the idea.

More Description and Example in KL Inductive approach focuses on how the student is able to deduce patterns or characteristics thus drawing new conclusions based on the information they have derived from it on their own. A strategy in KL of generating and testing our theories would be more like the Frayer models that we have made through out the class. We had to formulate our ideas on to this sheet of paper to see if our thoughts and interpretations were congruent with that of the terms and examples related to the particular topic at the time such as the formative and summative and clinical interview models.

Synthetic division Using synthetic division within a math class room is an example of generating your own hypothesis and testing it to find the result you are looking for. With this idea students must find the possible zeros of the polynomial and use those probable guesses to find the correct zeros of the polynomial.
