Control Measures RISKSTRATEGY 1.Students reminded before leaving the classroom of expected behaviour with regard to running, jumping, pushing or any other kind of unnecessary actions. 2.Students advised to stay together in their groups and made aware of a time in which they are to return to the classroom together. Teacher to be patrolling the area in which the students are completing the task. 3.Students to be reminded to take particular care when working on the steps and to first clear any potential tripping hazards or loose items on the ground that may contribute to slipping. 4.Teacher to make an appropriate call on the day of the activity with regard to severe or inclement weather that may affect the well-being of the students. If too hot or wet, the activity should be postponed or cancelled. 5.Teacher to model to students the correct operation of the measuring tape. Students to be advised that any deliberate misuse of the resources will result in reprimand.

General Considerations Evacuation procedures. First aid usage. Reporting policy. Knowledge of individuals within the class. Health concerns. Assume and act with full responsibility. Rules established at the beginning of the class, prior to practical activity. Physical obstructions, running, equipment, layout. Accident and emergency tools whereabouts and usage.
