LABOUR DAY is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world that resulted from efforts of the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers.

The celebration of Labour Day has its origins in the eight hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City. The First Labour day in Czech republic was celebrated in 1890.

The United States Labour Day is celebrated on the first Monday in September to honour our working people of America. This holiday is generally used for rest and recreation. During the long weekend the people usually visit national parks. In New Zealand Labour Day is a public holiday held on the fourth Monday in October. In Czech republic is celebrated on 1 st of May. In Canada labour day is celebrated on the first Monday in September.
