National Curriculum Level 3 I know some of the basic rules of football. I can pass the ball with some accuracy. I can sometimes control the ball, but it runs away from me sometimes. I have some idea of the different playing positions and can play one of them. I can name some of the components of fitness I can identify some of the strengths and weaknesses in my performance. I can follow a warm-up and cool-down safely using suitable activities. I know that exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle.

National Curriculum Level 4 I know the basic rules of football (as for level 3). I can pass the ball with some accuracy in static practices. I can control the ball on a few occasions when not under pressure, in static practices. I have some idea of the different playing positions and can play one of them. I know the components of fitness and how they help me in football. I can use some of the correct technique terms to improve performance. I can follow a warm-up and cool-down safely, using suitable activities by myself. I understand the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle.

National Curriculum Level 5 I know the rules of football when playing a small sided game. I can pass the ball with accuracy to other players using more than one type of pass whilst on the move. I can control the ball while under some pressure whilst on the move. I have a good understanding of playing in at least 2 roles. I know how to train the different components of fitness relating to football to improve my performance. I know some of the tactics and formations used in football. I can identify strengths and weaknesses of mine and others performances, giving feedback to improve on this. I can lead a warm-up and cool-down session for a small group of people suitable for Football. I can explain why exercise is important to my health and fitness.

National Curriculum Level 6 I know the rules of football and can apply them to referee a small sided game. I can pass the ball accurately using a variety of passes. I have some success with my weaker foot in small sided games. I can control the ball with more than two parts of the body while under some pressure in small sided games. I know the role of and can play in more than one position, specialising either as a defender, midfield or forward. I know how to train each component of fitness and how each of these relate specifically to different positions in football. I know how to play/set up different tactics in football. I can give more detailed feedback to improve performance and analyse. I am able to lead a safe warm-up and cool-down, stretching the correct areas of the body for Football. I understand how Football can benefit a persons health and fitness.

National Curriculum Level 7 I know the rules of football and rarely make mistakes. I might be able to referee a full game. I can pass the ball accurately while under pressure both in practice and in game situations. I have increasing success with my weaker foot. I can control the ball with more than two parts of the body while under some pressure (as for level 6 ) in game situation. I have a good understanding of a variety of playing positions and can play them effectively. I know how to train the different parts of my body to increase different components of fitness relevant to Football. I can explain why tactics are important in football. I have a good understanding of positions and can play them effectively. I know which of the major muscles to stretch for Football. I am responsible enough to do this for myself and others. I understand why we warm up and cool down. I can describe how Football benefits health and fitness and can share this information with a small group.
