SOCIAL NETWORKING Social networking has become a very popular thing since the creation of MySpace. Since then, Facebook and Twitter have also blown up and MySpace is quickly becoming a thing of the past. The popularity of these social networking sites has sparked a huge increase in the amount of social networking we are doing. There are now thousands of apps for smartphones that have many aspects of social networking like Instagram and Snapchat, even Pinterest. Being rude or mean over social networking sites can have serious effects and consequences. Never post anything you wouldn’t want family, an employer or even a prospective college administer to see.
6
CYBER BULLYING Cyber Bullying is SERIOUS. Since social networking sites have evolved, cyber bullying has become more and more of an issue. Through Facebook, MySpace, and even Twitter more and more people are being bullied. This bullying can have serious effects on people. Many people will become so upset that they will hurt themselves or hurt others. It is important to always be sure the message you are trying to portray won’t be taken the wrong way by somebody else.
7
ONLINE SAFETY YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW WHO YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH OVER THE INTERNET. The internet is a public place and social networking sites are free for a reason. Anyone can join and anyone can create multiple pages and be whoever they want to be. There are people with fake identities on the internet for many reasons. Creepy people make profiles to lure young gullible kids and even police officers have been known to create fake profiles to ensure that things are not being said on the internet that shouldn’t be. So never post anything that could put you or somebody else in danger or could get you in trouble.
8
SOCIAL NETWORKING RULES Never -Post your address on a social networking site or the address of where you will be alone for the day -Post inappropriate pictures that could get you in trouble -Talk to strangers on the internet -Give away personal information about yourself or anybody else to somebody you haven’t met in person Always - Take caution in what you say and do on the internet

BLOGS AND FORUMS Blogs and online forums are also becoming more and more popular. People can now share their feelings and post anonymously to sites expressing their sometimes unwanted or unnecessary opinions. People often take advantage of this idea of being anonymous and will use it as an excuse to say things they would never say to someone’s face. They think they can just hide behind a computer screen and don’t consider that they may be hurting someone’s feelings or sharing something completely unnecessary.
