Highlights, cont Propulsion and Energy Forum 2015, 27-29 July 2015, Orlando, FL Michael Tschanz, Director of Technology and Analysis, Design and Engineering, Walt Disney spoke on Wednesday afternoon – Developing Creative Storytelling Using Model- Based Design – captured one of the largest crowds in the plenary room all week. The talk was interesting and geared toward engineers, yet entertaining and understandable to all. 1100 tweets from approximately 200 tweeters 36 new stories came out of the Forum, the Warp Drive Technical presentation accounted for over 25 of them. Made headlines in 8 countries. 4

Report of Institute Activities Professional membership is down by 7% from this same time last year. The Membership Committee is discussing the possibility of doing 2 or 3 targeted surveys to gather data about why professionals aren’t joining and students aren’t transitioning. AIAA has established a strategic relationship department. This new department is organized by tiers that are defined by market segment/demographics. The strategic relationship management (SRM) team manages Corporate Membership, Exhibits, and Sponsorship with the companies in his/her tier. All three summer Forums showed an increase in exhibits from 2014. AVIATION – 10%; P&E – 3%; SPACE -25% 5
