Operations 105, Class 2 An XP and FD Dream for the Church Campus

Guest Lecturers Rob Cizek is the Executive Pastor at Northshore Christian Church, a non- denominational church of 1,500 and Christian academy of 1,000 in the Seattle area. He oversees daily operation of the organization and its ministries. He also organizes a networking group for executive pastors in the Puget Sound area. Prior to becoming an XP, Rob was an Emmy award- winning newsroom producer. Patrick Hart is the Facilities Manager at Northshore after having served with Overlake Christian Church. He earned the Certified Church Facility Manager designation from the National Association of Church Facility Managers. He has helped the church become a leader in energy saving programs while maintaining a fiscally responsible facilities budget that has not seen an increase in over six years.

Class 2—An XP and FD Dream for the Church Campus Senior leaders in churches have a vision for the direction of their church—the same is true of the church campus. What does an XP envision for facilities? What is the interplay in this process between SP and XP, and how does that relate to the Facilities Director? This class will examine one XP-FD team to walk through the process of a dream-into-campus reality. We will examine what they wanted but might not have gotten in their campus expansion. We will want to hear what surprise the architect or builder might have been able to add to the campus vision. What are the best practices for sharing space with multiple ministries and a school?

Secrets to good relationships  Communication  Short accounts  Mutual respect  Communications “language”  “Second chair” leaders

The joys and pains of multi-use  Leadership  Attitude  Storage  Neutral Décor  EVERYONE  Own set-up & clean-up  Contributes to upkeep
