Environmental Science Lab “Groundwater Pollution” Recall from last day: – POROSITY refers to the amount of space between particles of soil – Fluid stored in and around pores of soil is referred to as GROUNDWATER – INFILTRATION is how water moves through pores in the soil, eventually reaching stored groundwater – A large collection of groundwater underneath soil layers where we draw drinking water from is called the AQUIFER SURFACE
