AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 1 Lessons from Point 8 HW installation Better idea of Where, When and … What ! Periodic meeting (every 2 weeks) - Good participation ! It’s not difficult to understand what one says. The problem comes from what one forgets to say. ?
2
AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 2 How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (1/2) By keeping close collaboration with: TS/EL/CC for Cables installation (min. 3 months delay) TS/EL/OF for Optical Fibers installation (min. 6 months delay) TS/EL/WO & OM Electrical inst. & oper. BUT procedures are already well defined -> EXAMPLE -> Outside AB/CO
3
AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 3 How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (1/2) Example for TS/EL/CC: DIC (Demande d’installation de câbles), date and delivery (min. 3 months) Master planning and ‘Campagnes de câblage’ ‘Réunion de coordination à court terme’ Before launching the contract, direct call to the user for last modifications or green light! Outside AB/CO Cont.
4
AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 4 How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (1/2) Changes or enhancements foreseen from TS/EL/CC: All racks are now installed and cables installation will not be postponed anymore. TS/EL/CC will soon supply a new team (2 MY) for urgent or exceptional short time work (repairing, connectors, small cables, …) Eventually: Fine tracking during each ‘campagne de câblage’ !?!? Outside AB/CO Cont.

AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 5 How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (1/2) Example TS/EL/WO & OM: The previous ‘consignes’ were: ‘Call us 2 weeks before you need your outlet running’. => Chaos ! Enhancement for electrical outlets: SOON ! ‘Campagnes de mise en service’ per area (ARC, UA, RE,..) The user will choose his sockets on a TS/EL file Outside AB/CO Cont.

AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 6 By tracking all HW components: Cables Timing modules Fieldbus components By using a more accurate planning, including all phases (manufacturing, delivery, test, manpower, …) EXAMPLE Inside AB/CO How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (2/2)

AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 7 How to improve the installation process for the next steps? (2/2 cont.) FALSE TRUE A worldFip segment is: - a cable ? - a set of cables AND active components AND SW driver AND drop cables AND connectors AND …….. ?? Inside AB/CO

Tap FipDiag Gateway FGC WorldFip segment = … Tap FipDiag FGC SR8 configuration = 26 WorldFip segments !!

AB/CO - TC - 19.05.05 – Cl.Deh. HT section 9 To include a time slice, in the master schedule, for AB/CO test Which is not the case, now ! Request from AB/CO to TS/IC https://edms.cern.ch/file/102509/2.0/MasterSchedule-20-10.pdf
