8. “That You would keep me from evil” Jabez acknowledges that his request is spiritually dangerous Deut 32:15 Wealth and comfort cause people to forget that all comes from God Has been true throughout history

9. “God granted him what he requested.” Just as God received Jabez’ unselfish prayer, God will also receive our prayers to, “Bless us, enlarge our territory, keep His hand on us, and keep us from evil”
