6 WJEC DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY Textiles Technology DYLUNIO A THECHNOLEG CBAC Technoleg Tecstilau 2015 The following slides are exemplar CAT pages from the set briefs for 2015. Brief 1: ACCESSORY Taking inspiration from Mother Nature, design and make a sustainable textile product that will hold a number of named personal items easily and securely. The product must: make use of recycled or re-used materials and components in an imaginative and creative way; be fully functional, durable and long lasting. Brief 2: FASHION Vivid colour, printed patterns and embroidery feature strongly in Matthew Williamson’s work. Taking this concept, design and make an item of clothing suitable for the winter or summer party season. The target market is the fashion conscious young person who would love to be seen wearing clothes that are clearly inspired by the work of this top designer. Brief 3: SOFT FURNISHINGS Designers take inspiration from many exotic and colourful locations worldwide when developing new ideas for textile materials and soft furnishings. Design and make a soft furnishing item that would enhance a room setting of your choice. Your design must: include elements of pattern, prints, textures and colours that reflect the named exotic location; suit the style of a specific target market.
