Spiritual Law: Only open hands Can receive the gifts of God

You are a citizen Of 2 Kingdoms Each with rules and rulers Laws, cultural expectations 1 won't last, 1 won't cease

…our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body…

…by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself - Phil. 3:20-21

God set up the world To work a certain way There are spiritual principles That will always be true

Your greatest needs are not met By seeking to have them met

Your greatest needs are not met By seeking to have them met But by investing yourself in God-given opportunities As God leads

Put Another Way: Holding tightly Always robs myself Of the very thing God wants to give me

We know this "You'll only get out of it What you put into it"

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want - Prov. 11:24

Today...the "What" Next week...the "Why"

Your greatest needs are not met By seeking to have them met But by investing yourself in God-given opportunities As God leads

We don't give to get… But because Jesus is worth it

"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me"

"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it" - Jesus, Matt. 16:24-25

Jesus says… "I have come that you may have life…to the full!"

Jesus says… "I have come that you may have life…to the full!" Great- how do I get it? "Give up your life and die"

Spiritual Law: Only open hands Can receive the gifts of God

Grace …forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you - Luke 6:37-38

How do I walk in daily Forgiveness? Forgive How do I receive grace? Give grace

Your greatest needs are not met By seeking to have them met But by investing yourself in God-given opportunities As God leads

among …whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave

…even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many - Matt. 20:27-28

Give up being served To be the greatest

You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these - Jesus, Mark 12:30-31

What's Missing…?

Why?

You don't need to learn To love you…

Your greatest needs are not met By seeking to have them met But by investing yourself in God-given opportunities As God leads

Her Greatest need: Healing To know she mattered Give up: Right to bitterness Right to unforgiveness Right to victimhood

When her greatest need Became her greatest ministry She found healing And mattered more than She ever could have imagined

What's your pain? What's your hurt? What's your story?
