Explanation Explanations: He divided life in to eight stages spanning from birth to death. Since adulthood covers a span of many years, Erikson divided the stages of adulthood into the experiences of young adults, middle aged adults and older adults.

Explanation Freud proposed that the human psyche could be divided into three parts: Id, ego, and super-ego the id is the impulsive, child-like portion of the psyche that operates on the "pleasure principle" and only takes into account what it want and disregards all consequences. The super-ego is the moral component of the psyche, which takes into account no special circumstances in which the morally right thing may not be right for a given situation.
