Masai culture o There are 42 tribes in Kenya, but the Masai are the most popular. o The Masai eat raw meat, drink cow blood, milk, and stream water. o The Masai’s houses are made out of wood branches, cow dung, and polythene paper. o The Masai women are determined to give birth every year. o Getting into school is a problem for the Masai children. o The Masai girls have to do chores before they can go to school in the morning. o The masai girls don’t have a good chance to get into school because the boys get there supplies before the girls.

Ed Colina Ed has been involved in education for 26 years. He began his teaching career in Covington in northern Kentucky. In 2008, Ed started his program helping Masai women and children. In 2007 he gave 120 orphans a home. The foundation also began construction of a latrine located just outside a small classroom.

Why should we build this school? So the Masai children can have a chance to get an education. So they don’t have to walk so far to get to school. So they have a sanitary place to learn at. So the children can get a free meal. So they can start school at a young age, and not an older age.

The total number of kids attending the school will be 51 students.
