3. President Richard Nixon
Richard Nixon served in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII
Led the House Un-American Activities Committee investigation of Soviet spy Alger Hiss, who was later sent to prison for perjury.
Ran with Presidential candidate Dwight D. Eisenhower as his VP in Ticket won by huge majority, and reelected in 1956.
Ran for President in 1960, losing to JFK by only 113,000 votes in the closest election in U.S. history.
Most notoriously known for the Watergate scandal, and he was forced to resign.

4. President Gerald Ford 1974-1977
The only person to serve as both president and vice president of the United States who was never elected to either office.
On November 13, 2006, he became the longest living U.S. president, at 93 years and 121 days,
Ford named vice president under Richard Nixon after Vice President Spiro T. Agnew resigns.
Ford becomes president after the resignation of Nixon after the Watergate scandal
Fully pardons Nixon for his wrongdoings during the scandal

5. President Jimmy Carter
The Carter Center, established by the former president in 1982, has observed 100 elections in 38 countries.
Inaugurated as Georgia's 76th governor on January 12, 1971.
November 2, Elected as the 39th president of the U.S.
In a ceremony in Washington, D.C., Egypt and Israel formally sign a peace treaty ending 31 years of war between them. The successful Camp David accords are one of the highlights of Carter's presidency.
The U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, is stormed and diplomatic staff are taken hostage. Carter's inability to successfully negotiate release of the hostages became a major political liability. This known as the Iranian Hostage Crisis.

6. President Ronald Reagan
Reagan acted in many television shows and movies before his presidency.

November 4, Is elected president of the United States.
March 30, Is shot during an assassination attempt.
In his 1984 reelection bid, Reagan received 525 electoral votes, the most of any candidate in U.S. history.
When Reagan became President, the top marginal tax rate was 70%. By the time he left office, it had dropped to 28%.

7. President George H.W. Bush
Bush was the first sitting vice president to be elected president since Martin van Buren in 1836.
He is the second U.S. president, after John Adams, to be the father of a U.S. president.
January 1976-January Director of the CIA.
January 20, Is sworn in as vice-president of the United States.
November 8, Elected 41st president of the United States, with 53.1% of the popular vote and 426 electoral votes.
January 3, Signs the second Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START-II) with Russia.

December 8, Signs into law the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which takes effect on January 1, 1994.
November 5, Clinton is elected to a second term, the first Democratic president re-elected since FDR.
He was impeached due to lying about his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

January 20, Sworn in as the 43rd president of the United States.
November 2, Re-elected to the White House.
His popularity declined after failure to react during the Hurricane Katrina and the slump in US economy.
As the son of our 41st President George H. Bush, he is the only president since John Quincy Adams to follow his father to the White House.
Main events during his presidency included the 9/11 Terrorist Attack on the World Trade Center, the Afghanistan War, the Second Gulf War, the Enron Scandal, the Credit Crunch, the capture of Saddam Hussein and the Anthrax scare.
