Lisbon’s Strategy and Students The future of the European Union is strictly connected with students. As a matter of fact they are the new resource that can give to Europe a new force. The European Union to be competitive all over the world must become a new economy based on knowledge.

For a knowledge based economy Make a reality of the vision of a knowledge based society Further investment on research and development High quality education system Competitive universities at an international level Development of innovation poles Proposals to simplify mutual recognition of qualifications Stronger investment and use of ICTs Encourage entrepreneurial initiative Emanate new political and social reforms Invest in education and vocational training Give to students the opportunity to have a deep knowledge Give to students skills to be a good worker and a good European citizen

European youth initiative Reduce youth unemployment Facilitate entry into the labour market Unleash the potential of young people Better vocational training Development of apprenticeships Endow the younger generation with the human capital and the skills needed Encourage young people to study scientific subjects

FOREIGN LANGUAGES The European citizen might speak three languages very well to communicate with all European citizens. For example an Italian might speak English and German and naturally his language. So student must study languages to be a European citizen.

i2010 i2010 is a society based on knowledge and communication. It provides the adoption of TIC, a clear context, stable and competitive for e-communication and digital service as well as developping research and innovation of TIC.

Proposal to class council In my opinion to develop competence and knowledge teachers might do: 1. lessons in language, for example History in English 2. Homework with PC on the Net 3. Message board to discuss about a lesson theme. 4. Give to students the opportunity to compare themselves with expercts about a discussed theme in tha class
