It is to be a personal relationship

It is to be an intimate relationship

It is to be a mutual relationship

12. The Position of Husband (Head)
But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Cor 11:3 (NKJV)
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Eph 5:22-23 (NKJV)
one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 1 Tim 3:4-5 (NKJV)
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7 (NKJV)
 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. Col 3:19 (NKJV)
So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. Eph 5:28 (NKJV)

13. The Position of Wife (Helper)

14. The Position of Wife (Helper)
Why submission is required:
Man was made 1st (1 Tim. 2:12-13)
Woman was deceived in the transgression (1 Tim.2:14)
The order and purpose of creation (1 Cor.11:8-9).
The woman is strictly taught not to have authority over the man (1 Tim.2:12).

16. The Husband and Wife Relationship
The husband and wife relationship was established by God.
The relationship of marriage is suggested by two words: “HEAD” and “HELP”
Good relationships do not just happen…
They come as a result of understanding what the relationship is all about, and having the willingness to sacrifice (and work) to make the relationship good.
