The Problem of Hell A God that sends people to a place of eternal torment simply for failing to believe the right things about him is not a god that is worthy of worship.

Luke 16:19-21 19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luke 16:22-23 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

"Hell, then, is the trajectory of a soul, living a self-absorbed, self-centered life, going on and on forever. It is not a question of God 'sending us' to hell. In each of us there is something growing, which will BE hell unless it is nipped in the bud." C. S. Lewis
6
In order to understand HELL you have to understand SIN.
7
Sin/Hell is Separation. Luke 16:26
Sin/Hell is Slavery. John 8:31-38 Matthew 5:29-30 Sin/Hell is Separation. Luke 16:26 Isaiah 59:2 Psalm 16:11 and Matthew 25:30 Sin/Hell is Destruction. Luke 16:24

Needed more evidence. Luke 16: And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— 28 for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’

Needed more evidence. Luke 16: And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’ ”

God should just forgive.

John 3:18-19 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

Romans 5:6-8 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
13
1 John 4:9-10 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
