Acid Rain By: Alberto M. and Janel M.

Outline Causes of acid rain How acid rain damages the environment The impact on forest The impact on human health The things that are being done Our notes from the Pollution video Summary References

Causes of acid rain Causes of acid rain When fumes are emitted by chemical planes they are added into the moisture in the air, and it absorbs the sulfuric acid. Chemical turns moisture into acid rain can be… -snow -rain -mist

How acid rain damages the environment. Scandinavia is effected by acid rain and has hardly any living organisms in the lakes.

The impact on the forests Causes trees to grow at a slower pace Weakens trees by damaging their leaves Dissolves nutrients within soil Makes trees vulnerable to winter weather

The Damage of Acid Rain These are examples of the effects that acid rain has on our forests.

Compare and Contrast The tree on the right endures the effects of acid rain while the tree on the left doesn’t.

The impact on human health. The harm of acid rain to human health is not direct. The pollutants in which cause acid rain, are harmful to human health. When inhaled it can cause asthma or bronchitis.

Chemical plant This is a prime example of how acid rain is caused.

Things being done The clean air act Acid Rain Programs This is the EPA granting authority to the Clean Air Act.

Pollution Video Air pollution can cause water pollution Agricultural runoff- nitrates and sulfates Plants overgrow due to agricultural runoff and take space of living organisms in the ocean Human activity can decrease water pollution

Summary In conclusion, acid rain is not very harmful to the human health, although the pollutants in which cause them are. It does however have a bigger impact upon the environment. This is evident with the rate in which the plants will grow due to the exposure of acid rain.
