3.  A hot air balloon rises into the air and floats because the heated air inside it is lighter than the air around it. It is called a lighter-than-air flying device. How can heavy objects fly ?

4.  Gravity is a strong force pulling down, but it can be overcome by an upward force called lift.  If the air pressure on the bottom surface of an object is higher than that on the top, lift is produced.  Page 17 in your student book. Read it. Try the paper blowing. What is gravity ? LIFT?
