Summary In the S.T.E.M. program right now we are making a solar powered oven to bake cookies in the sun. S.T.E.M. is science, technology, engineering and math. We are using solar power for our oven. Solar power is used for many things like drying clothes and heating water. I am so excited to bake in the sun.

Materials Styrofoam-Used for insulation Aluminum foil-Used to reflect the light Black felt-Used to hold heat Mirrors-Used to reflect the Sun Wooden Slabs-Used to build the oven Gorilla Glue-Used to keep the wood together

The Process First I have to research solar power and solar powered ovens. Then, I drew out what I wanted my oven to look like. Next, I did the measurements on paper and on wood. Finally, I got the wood cut, put it together and decorated my oven. It was a very long process for the wood to dry. Finally we decorated.

After We Bake My oven worked well but it could have been better. If I was to build my oven again I would add more black felt around my oven to hold the heat and my wood would be even.
