Thursday, March 26, 2015 When is the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)?

If for any reason a student is not in school to write the test on that day, he or she must wait until the following year to write the test. Absent for the Test

Grade 10 students and any students in Grade 11 or 12 with a minimum of 22 credits who has not yet received the Literacy requirement. Who writes the OSSLT?

This test is a requirement to pass high school. If a student is unsuccessful on the test, he or she must write it again next year or take the OSSLC – the Literacy Course that is offered at night school or summer school. Why do students have to write the OSSLT?

The OSSLT is scored out of 400. A pass is a score of 300 or higher. The tests are scored by people who are hired by the Ministry of Education and NOT Earl Haig Teachers Results are sent to the schools at the end of June. Scoring

In February and March: Math, Science, Social Science, English, Physical Education, and Tech. Studies teachers will review various tasks in class to all Grade 10 students. Preparation for Students

There will be 8 after school sessions which will be held twice a week. These sessions are taught by Earl Haig teachers from various subject areas. All are welcome to attend some or all classes. Preparation for Students
