2. What is Picasa? Picasa is a free program for viewing, editing, organizing and sharing the photographs on your computer

4. Your photographs are safe!  Your ORIGINAL files are never touched!  The photo edits you make are only viewable in Picasa until you decide to save your changes. Picasa saves a new version with your edits applied.  This is ‘non-destructive’ editing!

Add photographs to Picasa  You have total control over the photographs that Picasa displays.  Picasa shows the photo and video file types you tell it to find – in the folders you tell it to search  You can import photos into Picasa from many sources, including cameras, CDs, scanners, memory cards, and webcams

6. Three Types of Collections  Folders: represent the folders on your computer.  Albums: Only exist within Picasa. You can create ‘virtual groups’ of photos taken from multiple folders.  People: facial recognition technology finds, and groups, similar faces together from your entire collection of photos.
