What Is Non-Renewable Energy ?
An energy type which cannot be reused in our lifetime Non-renewable energy sources are called fossil fuels. They were formed millions of years ago, hence the name fossil fuels. There are three types of fossil fuels, Coal, Oil and Natural Gas.

Coal Coal is formed by the pressure that mounts up over the years on top of the dead plants and animals. It is can be mined from deep underground by machine or man. This picture shows a coal mine in Stoke-on-Trent.

Oil Oil is formed at the bottom of the ocean from the remains of tiny sea plants and creatures. It is used to make lots of different products like plastics but is mainly used for fuel in cars, planes and power stations

Natural Gas Gas is found above oil at the bottom of the ocean.
It is used for gas cookers, fires, and gas fired power stations. The picture shows a refinery in action
