These “flagged” students should receive further diagnostic work from the Reading Specialist. Common Assessment The data derived from the Universal Screener will inform our instructional decisions for ALL students. The Screener is to find a singular piece of data about what a student needs. And the common assessment is about looking at ALL the data to inform instruction for ALL of the students.
