COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING
2
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING How collaborative are we as a tutor group? How well do we know each other and support one another? Is there someone in the class that you rarely speak to, or do not know so well? (if so, how can you begin to change that?) Can you think of examples when we work particularly well as a group? Can you think of examples when you wish we had worked better together? “Communication leads to community”
3
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING Which words best describe our tutor group identity / characteristics? PRO-ACTIVE, SUPPORTIVE, LIVELY, TOLERANT, CARING, ENERGETIC, COLLABORATIVE, CLOSE-KNIT, COMPETITIVE, ATTENTIVE… What part have you played (or do you play) in forming this identity? Are you happy with our ‘group identity’?
4
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING In our tutor group, who do you most admire for being supportive of others? What specific qualities do they have? What could I do - as your tutor - to help our group become more collaborative and supportive of one another? Try to think of a practical suggestion. What is something I do already that helps with this?
5
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING What could you do (as an individual, or in a group) to help shape a supportive, collaborative and caring tutor group? Some suggestions: Be friendly, patient and supportive with all group members, Celebrate successes together – whether individual or group achievements; Use Brother Lionel fundraising to collaborate on something positive, perhaps by organising a tutor activity
6
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING WHICH PERSON ARE YOU MOST SIMILAR TO? HOW MIGHT THESE QUALITIES BE CONSIDERED DIFFERENTLY BY SOMEONE ELSE? Does our tutor group have a more dominant personality trait For example, are more of our group ‘Red’ or ‘Green’? How might this influence our tutor group culture?
7
COLLABORATIVE CO-OPERATIVE, SUPPORTIVE, SHARING THESE ARE OUR BASELINE ‘COLLABORATIVE’ EXPECTATIONS - WHAT WE HOPE ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE DOING EVERY DAY. ARE THERE AREAS THAT YOU CAN STILL IMPROVE IN?
