11 NIGP Chapter Formation NIGP helps its chapters get started by providing a Formation Guide that explains the progressive process of chapter formation requirements to begin formal recognition as a Chapter NIGP provides $299 in start up funds New chapter establishes chapter name, bank account, logo, officers, geographical region, incorporation and by-laws Regional Board Member makes presentation to NIGP Board on behalf of new chapter

12 NIGP Chapter Assistance Assistance in recruiting speakers Member prospect listings and mailing labels Promotional/marketing materials Access to low or no-cost legal consulting and incorporation services No cost group tax-exemption program Group rates on General Liability Insurance. Certification Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) –5 total years of public procurement experience of which a minimum of 3 years must be in a management or supervisory position –72 contact hours of “instructor-lead” procurement training/education –3 credit hours of public procurement coursework OR 6 credit hours of procurement-related coursework Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) –3 total years of public procurement experience –56 contact hours of “instructor-lead” procurement training/education –3 credit hours of public procurement coursework OR 6 credit hours of procurement-related coursework
