2. Terrorism and Causes Terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. Terrorists most likely have a motive. Terrorist attacks are usually done to gain social and political justice. Terrorism also occurs because some people believe that violent means justify the ends.

3. Nuclear Weapons Nuclear weapons are small devices that use nuclear reactions to cause an extremely large explosion. PROS: The fact of having nuclear weapons, and letting the rest of the world know, provides a great amount of security. CONS: The largest con that comes with these types of weapons is the sheer power that they possess. Entire towns can be leveled and thousands of lives can be lost in an instant. The effects are absolutely devastating

4. September 11, 2001 On September 11, 2001, 19 men hijack four fuel- loaded commercial airlines bound for west coast destinations. Osama Bin Laden was the leader of this attack. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania, making this the worst terrorist attack in history.

8. What started the idea of terrorist attacks? A high demand for oil in the Middle East lead to US involvement with other countries. People thought that this idea would help solve their countries problem, without thinking about how it would affect other countries.

9. Effects of Nuclear Weapons Nuclear weapons produce immediate and delayed effects. Immediate: Blast, thermal radiation, and prompt ionizing radiation cause significant destruction within seconds or minutes of a nuclear explosions. Delayed: Radioactive fallout and other environmental effects, inflict damage over an extended period ranging from hours to years.
