1 Providing Security - One Door At a Time

2 Multifamily Housing, What Landlords Should Know When It Comes To Protecting Tenants  Landlords are responsible to some degree to take steps to protect their tenants from thieves, assailants and criminal acts from other tenants.  239,671 number of robberies and burglaries committed at residences (single-family and multifamily) nationwide in 2007 (Source: Federal Bureau of Investigation)  Ways landlords can protect their facility and tenants –Ensure that each one of their rental units meets or exceeds the safety laws for the area. Ways to do this is require all properties have a locking doorknob and a deadbolt which limits liability. –Install a security system that is designed to counteract popular crimes in the neighborhood. –Educate the tenants about the crime status in the neighborhood plus provide training on any installed security systems. –Ask tenants about any potential security or safety problems that may exist plus inspect property regularly.

3 When It Comes To Senior Living, Security and Environment Are What Matter Most  Security is the number one driver of residents (87%) and top priority of potential future residents (73%).  The environment is more important to both future and potential residents than activities or dining options. Keeping up the facility and grounds and not deferring maintenance will positively impact current resident satisfaction while helping to recruit potential residents.  With 75% of current and 71% of future potential residents rating food quality as a Top priority, CCRCs will continue to focus on upgrading not only their culinary talent, but also on the dining environment.
