Warm-up Draw a pair of the following: Parallel lines Intersecting lines Coincident lines Skew lines

Vocabulary Parallel Lines – Do not intersect and are coplanar. || Skew Lines – Do not intersect and are not coplanar. Parallel Planes – Planes that do not intersect.

Parallel/Perpendicular Postulate If there is a line and a point not on that line, there is exactly one line you can draw through that point parallel to the line. If there is a line and point not on that line, there is exactly one line you can draw through that point perpendicular to the line. Open up the document “3.1 Parallel and Perpendicular Postulate” on scevmath.org and work through the investigation for the next 10 minutes.
