Collinear (co-linear) means on the same line. –Any two points are collinear. –More than two points may or may not be collinear.
9
Symbols & Terms Coplanar (co-planar) means on the same plane. –Points and/or lines may be coplanar. –Any three points are coplanar. –More than three points may or may not be coplanar.

Symbols & Terms Description - lines that are in the same plane Drawing –- Notation - Real world example coplanar lines
13
Name three balls that are collinear. Ball A is in the guy’s pocket. Ball C is on the girl’s racket. All other balls are on the tennis court.
14
Name three balls that are coplanar but not collinear. Ball A is in the guy’s pocket. Ball C is on the girl’s racket. All other balls are on the tennis court.
15
Name four balls that are not coplanar. Ball A is in the guy’s pocket. Ball C is on the girl’s tennis racket. All other balls are on the tennis court.

Symbols & Terms Name each line in three different ways. Draw. Don’t forget to use arrowheads to show that it extends indefinitely. mE P A R T
