3. History of the Town In 1669 the town burnt down and shortly afterwards Sumperk became infamous for its witch trials. Sumperk became famous for traditional textile industry in 2nd half of 19th century. It was called The small Vienna. Šumperk was founded in 13th century. There are about 30 thousand inhabitants today.

8. Šumperk town hall The Old Town hall was demolished in 1909 and the new one was built in 1911 in New-Renaissance style. There is the plague pillar in front of the Town hall

9. The bench of messages The lovely artwork of sculptress Lea Vivot situated next to the Town hall. There are many signatures of famous people on it. There is Indira Gándhí undersigned too.

10. Theatre and Pavlina manor-house History of the theatre The monumental building dominating the Main Street in Sumperk. The theatre was built in 1902. The Pavlina manor-house and the Museum The Pavlina manor-house is the seat of the Museum. There are many concerts and other events.

14. Folklore festival in Šumperk The folklore festival takes place in Sumperk in August every year. It takes almost the whole week. Sumperk becomes the meeting point for hundreds of people. They arrive to Sumperk with their ensembles from all over the world.
