Summary SOMEBODY: Maker and Feathered Serpent WANTED: Life BUT: His plans to make life were not working SO: He kept on coming up with ideas THEN: He finally made humans with skin, blood, etc.

Story Elements Major characters: Maker, Feathered Serpent, and Heart Of Sky (creators) Minor characters: Animals, mud humans, wood humans, power full men, and weaker men. Setting: Earth and Heaven Theme: Keep trying until you get it right Conflict: The creators kept failing to make life. Solution: They got corn and veggies to make perfect humans.

Story Events 1: There was a silent world 2: The creators created Earth by saying “Earth! Earth!” 3: The creators made animals. 4: The animals could not praise the creators 5: Then the creators made humans out of mud. 6: The mud humans fell apart and drifted away in the ocean. 7: The creators made people out of wood. 8: The wood people had no mind, so the creators made a flood to wash them away (CLIMAX): The creators go to a mountain called Broken Place and get corn and vegetables to make people. 9: They make humans with flesh and blood. 10: The humans were to intelligent, so the creators made them weaker so they couldn’t see that far.

Myth Justification Element 1 It tries to explain nature. Explains common questions such as, what causes a storm? Proof It tells us how the creators made life. I know this because it tells us how they did it step by step. Element 2 Talks about all the characters and human behaviors. Proof It talks about all of the character traits of all their life creations. Element 3 Events are usually impossible. Proof One part that was impossible was when the wooden dummies came to life. Element 4 Handed down through history by word of mouth. Proof I now this is handed down by history because there is no author name. Element 5 Myths usually teach a moral or lesson. Proof In this story the lesson is to never give up.
