13. origin The point on a coordinate plane where the x-axis and y-axis intersect. This point has coordinates (0, 0). Also, the point assigned to zero on a number line.

14. percent A ratio that compares a number to 100.

17. prime factors A factor that is a prime number.

18. quadrants The coordinate plane is divided into four of these.

21. scale drawing A drawing that shows a real object with accurate sizes except they have all been reduced or enlarged by a certain amount (called the scale factor).

22. simplify To write a less complicated expression with the same value.

23. x-axis The horizontal number line on a coordinate grid.

24. x-coordinate In an ordered pair, (x, y), it is the value of the x.

25. y-axis The vertical number line on a coordinate grid.

26. y-coordinate In an ordered pair, (x, y), it is the value of the y.
