4. HTML is the type of computer language that allows the designer to build a Page. HTML = Hyper Text Mark-up Language

6. “Click” on Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad

8. To start writing HTML all you have to do is to follow the template that is typed in the screen. My First Web Page This is my First Web Page

9. FIRST…You have to SAVE your work… as SAVE AS

10. NEXT…you will have to DESIGNATE WHERE the file will be saved to… This file is being saved to “MY DOCUME NTS”

11. THEN…you have to type in.txt at the end of the title…in this case the title is notepad. Notice I simply typed in.txt at the end to = notepad.txt I typed in notepad.txt

12. Next you have to SAVE the notepad file again…using SAVE AS This time you type.html after notepad to = notepad.html Type.html after notepad

13. So…do you want to see your new web page? First…”log” on to your ISP or Internet Service Provider. At school you can choose between Internet Explorer and/or Netscape

14. After the page loads “Click” on File…OPEN PAGE…Browse

15. “Go” to where your file is stored…in this case “My Documents”, then the computer will ask you what FILE you want to open to display your new WEB PAGE. Next…“Click” on the html file you want to open…then…”click” on OPEN

16. Your new web page should look like this If your page does not load or look like this…RELAX…we will find your page!
