Assessment Planning & Quality Assessments Planning a quality assessment means understanding where each student is where you want them to be. You determine this by using objectives to guide lesson planning and learning then you use those same objectives to create Assessments. Quality assessments are designed by attempting to move the students up the taxonomy as they progress in their knowledge. To create thinkers as opposed to students who just recall information, you must incorporate the higher levels of taxonomy.

Assessments Formative- you want to use this assessment with the cognitive assessment to get a understanding of the students crtical thinking skills Summative- this assessment is used with the affective domain of taxonomy to insure the students retained information. Performance based- this assessment is used to insure the student can carry out said objectives and is not just recalling information but actually obtaining and learning the information taught.
