Statistics 2/3 of the world’s population visits social media sites. Twitter’s fastest growing age demographic is 55-64 year olds. In 2008 only 32% realtors had social media presence, in contrast in 2009, 84% of real estate agents used social media sites to reach out to their target audiences. 94% home buyers use the internet to identify properties that would interest them. 32% of homebuyers found the house they bought online. To gain a competitive edge, realtors need to use social media to broadcast their messages and to interact with their fans. Traditional buyers take close to two months to find the house that meets their requirements. On the other hand, internet buyers take only about half a month. In other words, the internet, and social media in particular, helps home buyers identify key issues that they need to consider when buying real estate.

How to Share It: Hashtags What is a hashtag? A hashtag is a word or a phrase prefixed with the # symbol. Social networks such as Twitter may be tagged by putting "#" before important words. Hashtags provide a means of grouping such messages, since you can search for the hashtag and get a set of messages that contain it. #CBG EMT #CBGundaker #TweetToTheTop
