Agility The ability to change direction while on the move A sample agility drill

Balance The ability to control or stabilize the body when on the move

Co-ordination The ability to use body parts in unison with the senses to create movement

Power The ability to move the body parts swiftly while applying the maximum force of the muscles.

Speed The ability to move your body or parts of your body swiftly

How can we test these components? Many schools in the state of Colorado have begun using the Fitness gram testing program, which is an assessment tool that enables students to record their physical activity in 30-minute increments over a 3-day period. This test covers all of the components of physical fitness

Muscular Strength The ability of a muscle to exert a maximal force through a given range of motion or at a single given point.

The ability to perform many repetitions over a given period of time. The ability to resist fatigue when you hold a position or carry something for an extended period of time MUSCULAR ENDURANCE

Flexibility The distance of motion of a joint, which may be increased by stretching

Cardiovascular Endurance The ability of the heart, blood vessels and lungs to supply oxygen to working muscles during physical activity for a prolonged period of time.
